Important Update:
HardSID Quattro PCI will not be
manufactured by Reflex.
Read on to find out
how you can purchase one from Europe.
The HardSID Quattro has
been available in Europe for several
years, manufactured by Hard Software in
Hungary. Our plan was to start producing
the hardware in North America.
Unfortunately, we haven't been able to
generate the number of pre-orders
necessary to support the project. That's
not to say there wasn't significant
support: many of you have been
incredibly enthusiastic since we first
announced our intentions. We knew from
the beginning that it was going to be
challenging to introduce a niche product
like this, and we wish the outcome had
been different.
Now for the good news:
HardSID Quattro is available direct
from Hard Software in Hungary. The price
with one 8580 SID chip is 189 euros
(approximately $229, the price we
planned to release the card for in North
America). They're a small operation, so
unfortunately they don't accept credit
cards. There are two ways to make
payment:
1. By Western Union electronic funds
transfer. This is the best option if
you're in the USA or Canada. There's a
$29 fee, but the process is quick and
simple.
2. Europeans can use IBAN
interbank transfers for a nominal fee.
International shipping is only 7 euros,
and they should be ready to take your
order.
We encourage you to visit
www.hardsid.com for mp3 demos and
detailed ordering information.

The Quattro PCI accepts up to
four 6581 or 8580 Commodore SID
chips. You can buy the card
pre-configured with tested SID
chips direct from us, or find and install your own.

Yes, that's a chip cooling fan. The
classic SID chips generate a lot of
heat. To ensure they work optimally,
Quattro includes a precision high-speed
Spire cooling system.

The
classic Commodore 64 was introduced in
1982. In contrast to other personal
computers of the time, it included a
multi-channel analog synthesis chip that
redefined the world of computer sound.
